ACR's point of view
Despite the pressing requests addressed to the regional council by the Association for Rural Culture of which the Hon. Sergio Berlato, by the Venetian Hunters Association, by the Confederation of Italian Hunting Associations, by the Foundation for Rural Culture - ETS, the Regional Council of Veneto has issued with serious and guilty delay the regional hunting calendar for the 2022 / 2023 season on 2 August of this year, instead of no later than 15 June as foreseen by the national law.
The hunters of Veneto
This serious non-compliance together with a hunting calendar not sufficiently supported by arguments of a technical, scientific, legal and legislative nature have exposed the regional hunting calendar to foreseeable appeals by animal-environmental organizations, partially accepted by the TAR of Veneto which with the order of 23 September us suspended hunting in Veneto for almost all huntable species and eliminated the possibility of hunters in the Veneto to be able to take advantage of two additional days a week for stalking migratory game in the period between October 1st and October 30th. November.
Today's protest
Regardless of the questionable decisions of the TAR, the associations that organized the protest demonstration held today in Venice in the presence of over two thousand demonstrators, asked the council to remedy its errors and to issue a new council resolution to return to the hunters of Veneto the right to be able to take advantage of the two supplementary days per week for hunting migratory game in the period between 1 October and 30 November. The Veneto regional council has taken note of the argued requests made by the associations promoting the event and has assured that it will do everything possible to issue a new resolution of the council that returns the stolen goods to the hunters of the Veneto. The demonstrators have already announced that if the regional government does not honor the commitments undertaken, they will return in strength to express their profound malaise in front of the headquarters of the regional institutions (source: ACR)
