The animal rights appeal
The Regional Administrative Court for Veneto (Fourth Section) ruled on the appeal brought by the League for the Abolition of Hunting (LAC), WWF Italy, Lipu and LAV which requested the annulment of the "Regional hunting fauna plan 2022-2027– Execution of the ruling of the Constitutional Court n. 148 of 18.7.2023" rejecting the precautionary application.
The judges' first clarifications
In particular, based on what was underlined by the judges, the precautionary request formulated by the appellant associations is limited to the provisions of the art. 8, paragraph 1, letter. d), and paragraph 2, of the implementation regulation referred to in Annex A of the Wildlife Hunting Plan.

In addition, in light of the complex defenses carried out by the Veneto Region during the
oral discussion in today's Chamber, the examination of the arguments proposed with the precautionary application does not appear compatible with the summary nature that characterizes the present phase of the proceedings, and requires in-depth analysis of the merits phase of the appeal. Finally, the proposed complaints imply the solution of interpretative questions of not immediate definition, aimed at clarifying whether, under certain conditions, boats anchored in the courses can or cannot be defined as fixed positions from which the exercise of hunting activity is permitted. or in bodies of water.
