Withdrawals in derogation
Mr Barbara Mazzali, Lombardy's regional councilor for tourism, posted a comment on social media regarding a situation that has to do with hunting. Here's what he wrote in the last few hours: “In these last few hours, yet another attack has arrived on hunting activity and on the Lombardy Region by the usual pro-animal rights newspapers. The subject of the dispute is the request that the Lombardy Region, within the legality of the framework of Law 157/92, made to Ispra for the derogatory withdrawal".
Anti-poaching operation
The post continues: “We all know that the Institute was recently hit by a "historic" ruling from the Council of State for non-compliance with the indication of "small quantities" for the exemption. Also instrumental was the media coverage of the new regional law on markings for live recalls. On this point it is necessary to underline that the rule was made necessary due to the continuous and repeated complaints against lodge hunters for alleged irregularities on live decoys held defined by the AG with important acquittals and various dismissals. The lauded Pettirosso anti-poaching operation actually tells us that 99,2 out of 100 Brescian hunters respect the rules".
Live calls
The Hon. Mazzali then concluded: “Precisely on the outcome of these proceedings, in particular on the disputes relating to live calls, the excellent work of our hunters' lawyers must be valorised which, in addition to leading to various acquittals and dismissals, highlighted the technical and legal fallacy of the disputes! If today there is a deficiency in the protection of the territory and in wildlife management it is certainly not the fault of the Lombardy Region but it was the clumsy reform of the PA by DEL RIO which destroyed the fabric of professionalism at the head of the Provinces. On my behalf, as in the past, I will be ready to support the necessary measures for hunting in derogation, the reopening of the roccoli and the next hunting calendar".
