Pietro fiocchi, member of the board of directors of the ammunition company of the same name and president of Fiocchi of America and Fiocchi UK, announced for some time his candidacy in the ranks of the Brothers of Italy in view of the European elections next May. As is well known, the possible reduction of the quorum of propositive and abrogative referendums (up to 25%) is being discussed and Fiocchi himself has launched an appeal to the Italian parliamentarians on this issue.
Here is what he wrote about it: "I'm Pietro Fiocchi, Italian citizen and hunter. As such and like other hunter citizens, I have a clean criminal record and it is as an honest citizen that I have decided to appeal to you MPs, to whatever Group, Movement and political party you belong to. The Chamber of the Chamber will be called to discuss and vote on a proposal which intends to introduce a Referendum in our system with a validity threshold of 25% of those entitled to vote.
I could make a broader speech on the importance of parliamentary representation, but my concern is that behind this proposal there may be, among others, a possible and probable initiative aimed at banning hunting in Italy. I would like to point out that behind the hunting passion there are tens of thousands of jobs and many families who derive sustenance from the related activities. And the whole is estimated at over one point of GDP. For this, I rely on and I appeal to your common sense and your social and political responsibility so that you diligently carry out your task as legislators, taking into account the effects and consequences that such a decision could entail ”.
