Dissuasive measures
There is no Italian municipality that can truly say it is safe from the threat of wild boars. Sabaudia (in the province of Latina), one of the pearls of the Lazio coast, is struggling with wild animals, but the remedies to combat this emergency are singular to say the least. The Municipality chose to intervene with dissuasive measures that immediately raised eyebrows.
Not just cannons and repellents
The objective, in particular, is to act in public areas with air cannons, but not only. The tools to be used should also include special blank detonators, radio devices with programmable frequency and repellents such as mothballs. To strengthen everything, the mayor wanted to place mobile cages in strategic places.
Repeated raids
The situation is not at all reassuring in this city. Recently, in fact, it was discovered that many families of wild boars are now stationed in the center of Sabaudia, a danger for the safety of citizens and their health. Among other things, ungulates have got into the habit of raiding school gardens, with all the consequences one can easily imagine.
