The condolences of the ANPAM for the disappearance of the former chief prosecutor Pier Luigi Vigna: "Sorrowful for the loss of a sincere and capable friend".
ANPAM (National Association of Sports and Civil Weapons and Ammunition Manufacturers) joins the condolences of the institutions and the whole country for the disappearance of Pier Luigi Vigna, magistrate and former Chief Antimafia Prosecutor as well as a man of the highest cultural and moral depth; the magistrate and former Chief Anti-Mafia Prosecutor was among the founders and had chaired since the first edition the National Study Conference on Weapons Discipline which is held every year in Brescia on the occasion of EXA.
The Association mourns in particular the scholar and expert in arms law, a role that had prompted him to promote the appointment - which later became a fundamental stage for the Brescia event - of the National Study Conference on the Discipline of Arms at the opening of EXA, the annual fair dedicated to sporting and outdoor weapons.
Since its foundation, Vigna had chaired the juridical appointment, which reached its XXVIII edition in 2012, which will be remembered precisely as the last one that saw him as a direct protagonist. Certainly, however, even in its future editions, the teachings and passion that the jurist, the committed magistrate but always in his place, has lavished on the audiences that have followed over the years will certainly not be forgotten.
Pier Luigi Vigna passed away on Friday 28 September in his Florence, where he had lived and worked for many years despite being involved in the main judicial and investigative events of the country during his career.
From terrorism, black and red, to the mafia, to drug trafficking up to the investigations on the "monster of Florence", the figure of Vigna has marked an entire historical season, without forgetting, among other things, the great commitment to the regulation for the collaborators of justice, a highly debated and delicate issue. His talents earned him the appointment as National Anti-Mafia Prosecutor, a role he held until 2005.
The ANPAM, aware of how serious the loss is for the family and for Italy, wanted to express its condolences also through the words of its president, lawyer Nicola Perrotti: “Pier Luigi Vigna was a friend of the ANPAM and of all weapons enthusiasts, a sincere friend who, as a profound connoisseur of the subject, knew how to identify the most delicate and angular problems, inviting us to face them rather than forget them. Thus was born a season of studies and in-depth studies on the discipline of weapons, which has led our country to always be one step ahead - at least in theory - on the subject. Thanks to an upright magistrate like Vigna, our sector has been able to show its best part, its balance and its undisputed ability as a jurist have been a shield against disinformation and we will never stop being grateful for his commitment. But at this moment the thought goes above all to the family, because the value of man comes before that of the magistrate, albeit of such high depth. So to the family our condolences and our embrace ".
