Il transfer control plan of Emilia Romagna region is 100% operational. The proposal had come from the Department of Hunting and fully respects the dictates of theISPRA: the goal, as can be easily understood, is to protect orchards and other sensitive cultures from these birds. In short, farmers have the opportunity to contact the Provincial Police and ask for the activation of the plan.
Landowners themselves can control starlings in case of possession of a hunting license. A similar plan might concern the corvids, even if the Region is awaiting the opinion of the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research: in this case approval could come in a week. The abatement will be carried out following the same scheme outlined for transfers. For the latter, the control is valid throughout the Emilia-Romagna region, except for parks and reserves.
The total number of animals to be slaughtered amounts to 25mila, taking a cue from what happened in Emilia Romagna in the period between 2009 and 2016. A special system will count the overall check, with the interruption arranged after reaching the limit. Calls are forbidden and a distance of no more than 100 meters must be respected as regards the crops.
