Next year's vote
The European Federation for Hunting and Conservation (FACE), which represents 7 million hunters across Europe and includes 37 national hunting associations, officially launched its Manifesto for the 2024 European elections at the Board of Directors meeting held yesterday in Brussels. These elections will have a fundamental impact on the European political landscape for the next 5 years, influencing the direction of European policies and initiatives, including environmental and hunting legislation. The FACE Manifesto aims to ensure that hunters' interests are well represented during the campaign for the 2024 European elections, addressing the challenges arising from decisions made in Brussels.
The voice of European hunters
FACE President Torbjörn Larsson stated that “This Manifesto is a significant step towards ensuring that the voices of European hunters are heard and are better understood. We ask our politicians to work together with hunters to promote hunting and conservation." The undersigned National Associations (Federcaccia, Enalcaccia, AnuuMigratoristi, Associazione Nazionale Libera Caccia, Arcicaccia, Italcaccia and the National Hunting and Nature Committee - CNCN) gathered in the Unitary Control Room of the Hunting World, proudly participate in this initiative spread across Europe to support FACE's Election Manifesto at the national level, declaring: “We are committed to defending the interests of hunters and conservation in our country. This manifesto gives us a united voice on our mission to promote responsible hunting and the protection of our natural and cultural heritage. We strongly encourage candidates and parties across the political spectrum to sign and support this Manifesto”. All FACE Members are rallying support for the Manifesto from European Parliament (MEP) candidates representing different political visions. We ask MEP candidates to sign and demonstrate their support for a practical, grounded approach to hunting and conservation policymaking.
Intergroup “Biodiversity, hunting, countryside”
The Manifesto outlines a series of 5 key demands and serves as a powerful tool to urge future European politicians to collaborate with hunters. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of re-establishing the European Parliament intergroup “Biodiversity, Hunting, Countryside” for the 2024-2029 legislature and urges legislators in Brussels to recognize the valuable contribution of hunters to conservation, the economy and society. Dr David Scallan, General Secretary of FACE, highlighted at the launch that “Exactly one year before the next European elections (6-9 June 2024) FACE and its Members concluded the recent European Hunters Campaign with more than 365.000 supporters in all of Europe. The FACE Election Manifesto builds on the success of this campaign, with the aim of sending a clear message to the politicians of the next legislature in Brussels: Work with us!”. The campaign to sign the FACE Manifesto will be carried out in the coming weeks by the Hunting World Control Room, which will continue to work for the 2024 European elections scheduled for 6 to 9 June. How to support the FACE Manifesto? To contribute to the success of the campaign, you can show your support by promoting and sharing the Manifesto, demonstrating your commitment to hunting and conservation in Europe (source: FIDC).
