The FAIR ISIDE is the new side-by-side shotgun available in 12-16-20-28-36 gauges. This project, born in 2008, completes the range of products offered by the Brescia gun company, which once again has managed to respond to the needs and requests that come from the market.
FAIR on the occasion of Iwa, the important international amri fair held in Nuremberg from 9 to 12 March, presented the new interesting project called "Iside". Its official presentation in Italy took place during Exa 2012, the most important fair in the field of sporting and hunting guns in Italy.
The project of this new parallel called "Iside" was born in 2008, following the constant requests from many importers and distributors, who were clamoring for a weapon that could complete the range of FAIR products.
FAIR, being the second largest Italian industrial reality in the manufacture of over-and-under shotguns with a production of different types of models, the latter studied and designed for each individual country of reference, could not leave these requests unheard.
Considering the well-known experience of the Brescia-based company in the production of over-and-under shotguns with a 100% interchangeability methodology, the Iside project consequently took inspiration from it. In this way, a new idea of parallel shotgun was born which features 100% interchangeable components and a completely integral action frame.
But let's analyze the characteristics of this new project in more detail.
The heart of the innovation of the Iside project lies essentially in the receiver. The latter is in fact dedicated to each single Isis caliber: 12, 16, 20, 28 and 36. Consequently, the weights are contained and have specially balanced balances designed for single caliber gons. It should be noted that the model cal. 20 does not exceed 2,700 kg in weight.
The action is completely integral and is obtained from a single solid forged in trileged steel 16: the choice of FAIR to make use of this part thus conceived means that neither plates nor connecting screws are present. A receiver conceived in this way guarantees resistance to the use of the shotgun and no aesthetic defects.
The upper rib is concave with an anti-reflective satin finish. The sights are brass points. The Isis battery features spiral springs and dogs with double safety mounting system and perforated throttle.
The Isis leaves the factory with a single selective trigger, although on request it is possible to install the double trigger. The sucira was placed on the back of the receiver, which was subjected to the treatment of cementation and tempera, with old silver-like chrome plating and laser engravings with triple depth, with hunting scenes represented.
The parallel barrels of the Isis, with concealed convergence system, benefit from the XCONES system and are internally chromed. The material with which they are built is the high strength UM / 7 - HD 40, with a weight of about 1,1 kg. Their standard length is 68, but on request it is possible to order rods of 71 cm. The choke is in Technichoke Hunting XP 50, but they can be 4/2 and 3/1 if ordered specifically.
The extractors are manual with great development or autoamtic with great development. The barrels of the Isis are subjected to the brilliant black burnishing process.
The firing system derives from the already tested system used on the FAIR over-and-under shotguns.
The woods are in superior quality European walnut, English type with an ergonomic hunting design. They are finished in oil with scottish type checkering performed by laser, to obtain a fine pitch with double grip. The stock is 368 mm long, the drop at the heel is 58/60 mm and the crease at the comb is 36/38 mm. Finally, the black bakelite buttplate completes the new FAIR Iside.
The new line also includes Isis Safari, a splendid shotgun with a particularly streamlined line and optimal proportions.
Ultimately, the Iside project confirms the excellence of FAIR, which is able to respond to the needs of the market and to the various requests coming from the hunting world. Being able to keep up with the times means investing in the research and development of increasingly competitive products in international markets. Only in this way can Made in Italy triumph.
This company, the pride of the Italian arms sector, has once again hit the target.
