Three days of celebration of a passion
UNA Foundation – Man, Nature, Environment – will be present for the first time at "Hunting, Fishing and Nature", one of the most followed events in the hunting world, dedicated to products, equipment and services for hunting and sport fishing, which will be held from 11 to 13 April at Longarone Fiere Dolomiti, to tell the story of sustainable, ethical and responsible hunting also in the Belluno area. The three days in Longarone will be a celebration of a passion shared by thousands of hunters and that will allow Fondazione UNA to tell its story and its commitment to creating synergies for the development of supply chain projects that unite the hunting, environmentalist, agricultural and academic worlds, around the themes of hunting, biodiversity management and the creation of a new environmental supply chain.
A valuable opportunity for comparison
“We are particularly proud to participate for the first time in Hunting, Fishing and Nature, an event that represents a precious opportunity for Fondazione UNA to discuss and dialogue with the territory” comments Maurizio Zipponi, President of Fondazione UNA. “Finding new spaces for dialogue is essential to understand the real needs of the hunting world and take charge of them with a view to growing our network. It is precisely this network of relationships and collaborations that allows our Foundation to be what it is today and to carry out concrete initiatives at a national level. Our goal is to continue to expand these communication channels to build together a new hunting culture, sustainable and responsible”. At the heart of the hunting event will be the role of the wild meat supply chain, which will be addressed from different perspectives and interlocutors: the Province of Belluno – coordinator of the conference – and AULSS 1 Dolomiti will delve into the more institutional aspects and those related to food safety, while Fondazione UNA will focus on the methods of applying the supply chain and on the concrete tool developed to ensure its effective implementation.
A project started in 2017
The Foundation is in fact the promoter of Selvatici e Buoni, a project launched in 2017 with the aim of spreading greater awareness of the opportunities for the territories deriving from the development of a wild meat supply chain. For this reason, on Friday afternoon, Fondazione UNA will talk about the results obtained to date by the project, starting from a memorandum of understanding signed with the Lombardy Region in 2019, to the publication of a real operational manual in 2024 and its dissemination throughout the national territory. The presentation will be followed by a starred tasting by Chefs Team Cortina, accompanied by the informative experience of “Gusto Selvatico APS” throughout the preparation and tasting phase of the dishes. Always with “Gusto Selvatico APS”, on Saturday and Sunday, in the food area of the fair, the Foundation will organize a series of show-cooking and sensory analyses capable of combining tasting with dissemination, with the aim of highlighting the organoleptic and nutritional properties of these meats and making people understand their healthiness and sustainability. But the goal of the UNA Foundation is also to open up to new opportunities for discussion with its community, to spread a hunting culture that contemplates the social and environmental role of the hunter, broadening its horizons.
