The places that hosted the test
The Provincial Hunting Federation of Siena, in collaboration with the Senese Cinophile Group, the Springer Spaniel Club of Italy and the Club Italiano Spaniel, organized the fourth Etruscan Cup, ENCI test for Spaniel type “A” CAC – CACIT. Hosting the test and the many enthusiasts who attended was the splendid AAV “Modena”, nestled among the hills and mountains of the city of Cortona (Curtum in Etruscan), ancient Lucumonia forming part of the Etruscan Dodecapoli.
Exceptional terrain
The reserve extends for approximately 400 hectares in land with large open areas with meadows and uncultivated fields, dotted with heather plants mixed with brooms and junipers, interspersed with woods typical of the Cortona hills, characteristic and exceptional terrain for spaniels. The award ceremony was officiated by the Provincial President Emilio Verdiani and by Giuseppe Terzini, organizer of the test and manager of the Spaniel Dog Breeding, at the restaurant of the Hunting House, where chef Alfiero made those present appreciate the excellent and typical Tuscan cuisine: tagliatelle with mushrooms, smoked penne, tripe, mixed roast, rosticciana, livers and spit-roasted sausage, cantuccini and Vin Santo.
Excellent success
Thanks go to the FIdC of Siena, to the Springer Spaniel Club of Italy, to the competitors who were numerous this year, eighty dogs in two days, to the judges, to the shooters, to the sponsors: Cantina Viticoltori Senesi Aretini, Cantina Baracchi and Mister Mix Dog always present on special occasions, to Mr. Marco Castelli manager of AAV “Modena” and to all those who collaborated in the excellent success of the event (source: Federcaccia).
