“Wild” hunt
The Council of Ministers has recently approved the text of the so-called “Salva Infrazioni” Decree-Law, a measure that addresses various issues. In fact, it does not only deal with beach concessions, but in Article 13 it intervenes on what is defined as “wild hunting”, in reference to the infringement procedure of Brussels 2023/2187 which concerns “non-compliance with the “Birds Directive” (2009/147/EC) and the Reach Regulation (1907/2006/EC amended by Regulation 2021/57/EU) on hunting”.
The intervention of the Council of Ministers
This Decree intervenes on some national rules that are in conflict with European law, so much so as to require the intervention of the Brussels Commission, which has started as many infringement procedures. The Decree-Law has established that the changes introduced with Article 19 ter must be applied in compliance with European rules.
The LAV point of view
LAV in particular did not like the choice of the Meloni Government, with these reasons: "We wonder how an article that blatantly violates European regulations on wild fauna can be applied, as reiterated at least three times by the European Commission, in its respect. It is therefore a cosmetic change, which cannot be considered decisive by the European Commission for the serious damage to wild fauna desired by the Government and Parliament at the beginning of 2023".
