"For this purpose, we consider it public necessity - write the Associations in a passage of the letter - the priority evaluation of the consequences of the suspension of the hunt, with regard, among other things, to a series of mandatory issues to the wildlife-hunting management problematic fauna, especially wild boar, above all for the extent of the damage caused to agriculture and the risks to public safety given the frequency of road accidents. In this regard, the same Ispra, with a note from the manager Piero Genovesi published a few days ago, he admitted that the only effective way to contain wild boars remains that of hunting. And just as evident as for the morphology of the Calabrian territory, the effectiveness remains that of hunted hunting".
After having recalled that this latest provision is added to the suspension following the Cautelare Ordinance of the Calabria Tar which already since 24 September has inhibited hunting in large parts of the Calabrian territory, in particular, the Coordination asks the Region to intervene in the Government in order to re-evaluate the conditions of exercise of the hunting activity and allow its regular resumption; the 50% reduction of the regional tax for the 2021/2022 season, given the economic and social crisis worsened by the effects of the pandemic, which has particularly affected the Calabrian community; the initiation of some formalities in order to modify the hunting calendar by recovering to 10 February the closure of the Colombaccio, Magpie, Jay and Hooded Crow species and extending the wild boar hunting season to January 31st in order to always recover the suspension periods in compliance with the foreseen time frame; from evaluate for the purpose of resuming the hunt for wild boar driven, some specific exemptions on travel, however, in part already approved and implemented by other Regions.
