The idea of the wild boarers
Two teams of wild boar drivers from the Ligurian town of Varazze (La Spezia) have launched a particular proposal which is worth highlighting. Teams 9 and 54 suggested using the meat from wild boars that were killed and which do not test positive for African swine fever to meet the needs of the most needy. The donation must obviously take place after having conducted the appropriate analyzes.
The results of the exams
The Municipality of Varazze is located in the Surveillance Zone II as regards the ASF. The idea came to mind after having studied the norm according to which the specimens subjected to examination and positive or negative results for the virus are disposed of regardless of the result of these analyzes, with a consequent ban on self-consumption. Local hunters, therefore, would like meat to not go to waste without problems.
The words of the hunters
The point of view of the wild boar teams is quite precise: “We ask that the declared healthy and certified wild boars be donated to organizations that deal with charity and the help of people in need. In the most difficult moment in the history of our passion we are close to those who are experiencing difficulties every day ”.
