After spending the winter of 2019 for the first time in the Marche region, exactly a Montelupone, this year, in the same location a couple of knights of Italy it has nidified and happily completed the hatching and the relative hatching of 4 pullets in a artificial lake restored for hunting.
It should be noted that in the province of Macerata there are no important and extensive natural wetlands suitable for nesting this species, but the restoration of some artificial lakes along the river courses by hunters made it possible to recreate such humid environments suitable for the stopping of aquatic wildlife. Thanks to the Federcacciatori di Montelupone members and their daily maintenance work, which allowed the realization of this important event. A praise also to the Marche Region which authorized the control plan for corvids (magpie and hooded crow) allowing to protect the nesting of the black-winged stilt, avoiding predation by corvids in the intervention sites provided for by the plan itself.
An integration that allows the control of all those areas involved in the nesting of the Knight of Italy and of the refectory, two species of high conservation value, for the purpose of tutelary in the delicate reproductive period.
