That of the nourish it is a known problem for our country, especially in various regions of the North. Yet there are those who still want to propose interventions other than killing. This is the LAV (Anti-Vivisection League) which has released a note in the last few hours: "Only the last signature by Minister Cingolani is missing, because the National Nutria Management Plan (Myocastor coypus), becomes fully operational after the State Regions Conference expressed its positive opinion in the session of 7 October. The rifles of hunters and other specially trained subjects will be authorized by the Regions to kill as many animals as possible, also aided by real gas chambers.
When issuing the opinion, the same Regions further worsened the Plan to the point that, in order to favor hunters, they came to impose the removal of the obligation to use lead-free ammunition, in thunderous disregard, therefore, to the protection of those habitats that the same National Plan should theoretically protect by starting a new massacre of Nutrie. Since 2018, we have been supplying the Ministry of the Environment, then led by the Minister Costa, numerous observations and criticisms to remove the use of bloody and lethal methods from the first draft of the Plan. But in the latest version available, despite the change of the name of Minister and Ministry, none of this has been implemented.
If the Plan will be fired from Minister Cingolani therefore a new season of blood and massacres will open. The problems that the Nutria are accused of causing the habitats and embankments are the sole responsibility of all those who for decades they got rich on animals by exploiting their fur. We therefore ask Minister Cingolani to block the approval of a Plan that would otherwise produce yet another, cruel and intolerable massacre, based on shootings and gas chambers; the ecological transition must start a new season also by promoting coexistence with animals, for this reason we also ask the Minister for the research funding for the development of the contraceptive vaccine, in line with the provisions of the European Regulation for the management of species defined as invasive and in full respect of the life of Nutrie ".
