The choice of the TAR
With an urgent provision, the President of the Milan TAR suspended the resolution of the Council of the Lombardy region with which the sampling of the Song Thrush from 24 to 29 September only from a fixed position. THE HUNT FOR BOTTACCIO THRUSH WILL RESUME THEREFORE ON OCTOBER 1ST. Moreover, in the appeal notified this morning, the LAC confused the song with the Redwing, and the President of the TAR promptly followed the trail of the appeal, but whether it was confusion, simple typo or poor ornithological knowledge, it matters little: HAS ARRIVED THE SUSPENSION OF THE RESOLUTION AND, FOR THE EFFECT, HAS SUSPENDED THE WITHDRAWAL OF THE BOTTACCIO PROVIDED FOR.
Non-huntable species
One would think that not the slightest attention has been paid to the contested provision, but only to the appeal, taking for granted even the blatant blunders. But this is a malice: never let it be that in the courtrooms you do not pay the utmost attention. What should worry most, however, is the motivation: hunting in September must be closed for "the need to protect the biological development of non-huntable species". On October 20, the provision will be discussed at the hearing, but it will now be irrelevant.
Key Concept
What is certain is that a serious intervention on ISPRA is urgently needed, which now sounds like an acronym for "Higher Institute of Strictly Atecniche Prescriptions", because according to Key Concepts 2021 Bottaccio would be easily huntable from 1 September and, then, the prescriptions are motivated with disturbance of the other species and with the possibility of confusion with non-huntable species. THE opinions of ISPRA for next season they will give us the measure of the next government in terms of hunting. In the meantime, we hope that the Bottaccis, who have been patient until now, will not decide to migrate en masse precisely on 28 and 29 September (Federcaccia Lombardy).
