The capture and marking operations with satellite transmitters of three snipe inside the Marshes of Fucecchio. The markings are integrated into the ANASAT project developed by ACMA and the FIDC Study and Research Office with the collaboration, as regards the snipe species, of the Snipe Club. These three captures follow those already made in the previous season which were carried out as part of the activities of the Ornithological station of Porto allo Stillo supported thanks to the contribution of the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters.
This research will allow us to better understand the behavior and strategies of the snipe species in order to ensure better management; in fact, technological advances can today allow the possibility of a precise representation both of the times and of the migratory routes of the different populations. Consequently these acquisition of information they can make it possible to exercise an ever greater function in determining the management methods of the populations themselves, especially in terms of defining the relative hunting calendars.
Once again the hunting world becomes the protagonist of scientific research in order to obtain the information necessary for the correct wildlife management of the species subject to hunting; the best response to an environmentalist world increasingly inclined to ideological positions completely disconnected from a correct and scientific vision of reality.
