Michele Dell'Orco, undersecretary al Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, spoke of road safety and referred to thewild boar emergency in our country. As pointed out by Dell'Orco himself: “Extraordinary maintenance plans have already been activated, in accordance with the motorway concessionaires, also proceeding with the replacement of the old anti-intrusion systems consisting of a wire mesh 1,2 meters high, with an anti-fauna network equipped with a ground extension, consisting of electro-welded mesh drowned for at least 30 centimeters into the ground".
The undersecretary added other important details on law 157 of 1992: "We must act in a coordinated manner throughout the territory and set up management interventions that are effective in the short term, but above all that allow to stabilize the situation in the long term ".
The intervention became necessary after the presentation of a parliamentary question by the Honorable Member Thomas Foti (Brothers of Italy) regarding the uncontrolled proliferation of wild species, first and foremost wild boars. In that case, an extraordinary plan for the killing of ungulates was called for without any administrative obstacles. Dell'Orco's reply came four months after that deposit, which makes the proverbial “better late than never” exclaim without problems.
