Il National Park of the Lucanian Apennines approved the new Wild Boar Management Plan which will remain in effect for five years, then until 2023. The character is urgent, so the plan itself is immediately executable. Wild boars killed in the protected area will be used as part of the meat production chain, carefully following the criteria of hygiene, safety and control that are necessary in such situations.
Among other things, the training course for 70 selecontrollers who will operate in the park. These people received the qualification to carry out the self-control, covering the areas that until now were without operators. As stated in the press release, one of the novelties of the plan consists in the abatement also through the technique of the endorsement, using dogs trained and qualified with ENCI tests (Italian National Dog-loving Body) and with specially trained auxiliaries.
The note continues: "The synergy work that our offices have conducted with the regional offices has led to an important turning point in contrast to the emergence of wild boars in our protected area, allowing us to start the logic of the supply chain we have been working on for some time, which will allow us to transform a problem that is becoming devastating into an opportunity for operators and restaurateurs. There wild boar meat it can become part of the Park basket which already has several products that stand out for their quality and originality ”.
