Il Natural Park of the Tuscan Archipelago published measures to control populations of wild boars and mouflons on the Island of Elba, defining zones, times and authorized subjects. This is an important withdrawal plan that is entered into force on January 1st and which will last until the end of the year (therefore the deadline is that of 31 December 2017). The felling will be managed by volunteer operators trained through specific lessons by the Park Authority: i selecontrollers they will be asked to identify the areas of competence, then there will be the assignment of the same to the various areas, finally the third and last phase will consist in theorganization of groups and identification of firing points.
There are six sectors of competence, namely West Elba, North-West Elba, Campo nell'Elba, Portoferraio, North-East Erba and Capoliveri. As for the times, however, they will be diversified according to the time of year and the hours of light available. The killing, in fact, will begin at 6:30 until February 15th, while starting from 1 June it will start at 4:40.
Among the recognizable wild boars and mouflons, the selecontrollers will have to pick those of female sex and of reproductive age. Finally, it should not be forgotten that the permitted daily reference times will be those specified in the regional hunting calendar of Tuscany for what concerns theTerritorial Hunting Area of Livorno.
