The Biodiversity Manifesto
Across Europe, hunters are not only users of nature, but also active conservationists. Through the Biodiversity Manifesto of FACE (European Federation of Hunting and Conservation Associations) , there is now strong, evidence-based proof of their impact. This is an important database of hunting-related conservation projects. In practice, there is solid evidence demonstrating how hunters make a crucial contribution to habitat restoration, protected areas, species monitoring, and much more.
The activities carried out
The evidence, in a nutshell, is as follows:
- Over 550 documented conservation projects
- 43% of the projects themselves focused on habitat restoration
- 25% of the initiatives implemented within Natura 2000 sites
- Coverage of 8 key conservation areas
Hunting and conservation
From wetland restoration and habitat management to species monitoring and supporting biodiversity on the ground, hunters make a difference every day. This growing database strengthens our voice in Brussels and clearly shows how hunting and conservation go hand in hand.
