The Hunting and Fishing Office of the Province of Bolzano announced the increase of number of deer in this area ofSouth Tyrol: the increase recorded in spring was a real record, despite a harsh winter. This is why the local authority pointed out how the samples of the ungulates were insufficient. The species proliferates and the complaints of farmers are not lacking, without forgetting the difficulties encountered in reforesting.
Animals are used to eating the shoots of new trees, for all these reasons the total number of huntable specimens has been raised. According to the Province of Bolzano, in the coming years, the deer harvest will be increased, in particular as regards the areas that are deforested by strong gusts of wind. The risk is that of witnessing the same episodes that occurred in Austria and Germany, with reforestation becoming increasingly impossible.
Last year i chamois, this time it was the deer's turn. It is believed that two million new shrubs will be needed to complete the forest operation, but at that point their growth should be safeguarded from the threats of the wild. The new numbers of the withdrawal plans in Bolzano and surroundings will soon be made official.
