The document was drawn up by the Sardinia Region and approved by ISPRA, but the current stalemate is obviously not positive. Particularly, the Province of Oristano does not have the economic resources necessary to implement the containment. On the other hand, it is necessary to organize courses and fulfill various tasks. Meanwhile, reports from ponds are increasing and always refer to an increasing number of cormorants. According to Coldiretti, the situation is unacceptable.
For Oristano farmers, the local authority must not be left isolated, always guaranteeing the technical and financial support of the Region. The cormorants have increased by 80% compared to normal presences and the damage has been estimated around 2,5 million euro. Finally, Coldiretti Oristano hoped for an immediate meeting between the Region, the Province and trade associations, so that the plan can start as early as October.
