Specific knowledge and skills
«With the arrival of autumn, one of the oldest traditions linked to the territory resumes: hunting is an activity that requires specific knowledge, skills and a deep respect for the ecosystem. The Province of Padua, in collaboration with the Territorial Hunting Areas, is committed to ensuring that this tradition can continue in full compliance with current regulations and in harmony with the needs of protecting biodiversity. For these reasons, it is important that all hunters scrupulously respect the hunting calendar and safety regulations, use only legally held weapons and ammunition that comply with the regulations, respect the environment and wildlife, and collaborate with the competent authorities to ensure compliance with the rules.
Opening of the hunting season
Silvia Alibardi, councilor of the Province of Padua with responsibility for Hunting and Fishing, speaks on the occasion of the reopening of the hunting season, Sunday 15 September. Provincial police officers and volunteer guards are operating in the territory to ensure compliance with the rules and the safety of people (hunters and non-hunters) through the deployment of patrols divided into the four provincial areas: Alta Padovana, Montagnanese, Conselvano and Lagunare Vallivo territory. The director of the Provincial Police, Samuele Grandin, reminds us of the behavioral rules, underlining the importance of respecting safety distances. In particular, "A safety distance of 50 meters from roads and 100 meters from houses must be maintained - the director summarizes -. Shooting is also permitted at a minimum distance of 150 meters from houses and roads and hunting in open crops is absolutely prohibited. Furthermore, the game bag must be strictly respected as established by the hunting calendar, under penalty of seizure of excess animals".
Responsible culture
"Thanks - concludes Alibardi - go to the hunting associations that play a fundamental role in the opening of the season and in the management of wildlife resources. Their collaboration with the institutions is essential to ensure balanced and sustainable management of wildlife and to promote a responsible hunting culture. In the province of Padua, this collaborative relationship is particularly consolidated and represents a positive model for other territorial realities" (source: Province of Padua).
