A year of waiting and an unexpected change of course. There is a roe deer that has been a real danger for some time for the "Federico Fellini" airport of Rimini, an ungulate that has repeatedly jeopardized the take-offs and landings of aircraft. It was all planned for one dejection due to the impossibility of capturing him alive, but a few hours ago the animal was pardoned after the intervention of the animal rights activists and above all of the president of the Province, Riziero Santi.
These are the words of the number one of the local authority: “The roe deer roams around the perimeter of the airport, which clearly represents a danger. Consequentially he cannot continue to sit undisturbed close to the landing strip. So in recent days the procedure for planning the killing of the animal has been started. I categorically opposed it and asked for immediate cancellation. Of course, the safety of air transport must be guaranteed, but with an alternative solution to killing, which I consider absolutely practicable ".
An experienced technician equipped with appropriate tools to anesthetize the animal over long distances will be assigned and then transfer it safely to its natural habitat. The costs, between one thousand and two thousand euros, will be covered by the aforementioned Province of Rimini.
