On the website ofTerritorial area of hunting Novara-Sesia the poster of the Snipe project, now in its sixth consecutive year. The initiative, which makes use of the collaboration of Novarese Dog Group and of the technical-practical support of the Snipe Club, is nothing more than a theoretical-practical course on the census hunting with the pointing dog of this bird in the paddy field.
In this way it will be possible to collect important data and information on the consistency of the snipe's presence in this part of Piedmont, without forgetting the most correct use of the dog. The area in which the census will be carried out is between the municipalities of Novara and Casalino. Furthermore, also in 2018 in the areas identified for this purpose there will be flooding of several paddy rooms, to be precise, those made available by two local farms: we are talking about an area subjected to a census that exceeds one thousand hectares, therefore a rather significant size.
The censuses will start just tomorrow, Wednesday 10 January 2018, and will involve the persons in possession of the license. The end of the activity, on the other hand, is scheduled for next March 15th. The course will be held in Novara on January 18, from 21 pm to 23 pm: the lesson will be hosted by the Conference Room of the Novarese Agricultural Foundation, while the speaker will be Dr. George Ferrato.
