THETerritorial area of Macerata hunting 2 joined the far-sighted satellite telemetry project promoted byAquatic Migrant Hunters Association (ACMA) contributing to the purchase of a GPS locator with which the Beccaccino called “Macerata 2” was equipped. There Satellite telemetry is a constantly evolving studio capable of offering important elements such as: departure and arrival dates of the migratory, their possible stops, the height and cruising speed, the knowledge of the main wintering areas and the migration routes.
Precisely for these peculiarities, the President of ATC Macerata 2 Pio Chiaramoni declares himself very satisfied to have invested in this study, as the ATC he represents has always believed in the importance of scientific data for management purposes. The monitored snipe named PB22 and MC2 were captured in Marshes of Fucecchio in Tuscany, in collaboration with the University of Pisa and currently the first is located in Lithuania and the other in the vast range of Russia, where it is currently stationed. We will carefully follow the next moves to verify the success of the project undertaken (source: FIDC).
