The woods of Trentino
The story of a 26-year-old found lifeless in the woods of Caldes, in the province of Trento (Val di Sole), while practicing running, is causing a lot of discussion. The fact happened between 5 and 6 April and the autopsy on the body of the young man, whose name is Andrea Papi, will clarify the causes of death. The main suspect is a bear who may have attacked and mauled the boy. The analysis of the animal's DNA will also be fundamental, in order to understand which is the exact specimen among those surveyed.
The reconstruction of the facts
Based on what was reconstructed, the runner was along the forest road before meeting the bear. It would have been dragged several meters into the woods before being abandoned. The wounds on the 26-year-old's body are attributable to teeth and nails and would be very deep. Perhaps the victim may have been ill before the attack, but nothing is certain yet.
What will happen in the next few days
If this reconstruction were to be confirmed, it would be the first victim of a bear in Italy (the animal would therefore have to be killed), while as far as Europe is concerned it would be the fourth case overall. Among the precedents, in fact, we can include confirmed deaths in Sweden, Turkey and Romania. In the coming days we will probably know more about this sad story.
