The measures required by the Municipality of Gioi, in the province of Salerno, to face thewild boar emergency. There was a new and serious car accident and for this reason the mayor Andrew Salati he contacted the park authority directly to report the incident and demand measures. The temptation to proclaim a state of emergency is strong, albeit unfortunately the bureaucracy does not allow to change the current situation.
The first citizen of Campania said he was ready to welcome the selection hunting, given that targeted killing could significantly reduce ungulates, but the solution is not considered definitive. Salati suggested resorting to hunting by way of derogation, taking into account the fact that the other measures have not produced useful results and the case is extremely serious.
Furthermore, agricultural crops, woods and waters must be protected, as important as public safety and health. The mayor stressed that the decisions will be taken anyway, even if not shared, in the event of failure to intervene.
