An alarm not to be underestimated
Il Turin Alpine District 3, an organization that deals with the wildlife, environmental and hunting management of the agro-forestry-pastoral territory of the Lower Susa Valley and Val Sangone, has released this press release in the last few hours: "Last Sunday, in the late afternoon, a hunter from this District alpino, returning to the car with his English setter on a leash at the end of the day's hunting, was surrounded by a pack of very aggressive wolves, perhaps intent on preying on his dog”.
Hunting and auxiliaries
“The man managed to solve the very bad situation by scaring away the predators, and with them the danger for his dog. We therefore invite hunters who practice hunting with their pointing or tracking aids and all those who frequent the mountains in the company of their four-legged friend to pay the utmost attention, trying never to lose sight of the dog and stepping in to secure it at the first sign of danger."
The territory of the Alpine District
Just two years ago there was an important change regarding this alpine area, with the Council of State establishing that Val Cenischia (in the western part of Piedmont) falls entirely under its jurisdiction.
