A desired comparison
A positive and constructive meeting took place yesterday afternoon, in the suggestive setting of Piazza Duomo in Florence, between the Regional President of Federcaccia Toscana-UCT and National Vice President of Federcaccia, Marco Salvadori, and the President of the Tuscany Region, Eugenio Giani. A strongly desired comparison that focused on the main issues related to hunting activity and wildlife-environmental management of the Region. The dialogue focused on issues of great relevance, starting from the need to accelerate the approval process of the new Regional Wildlife Hunting Plan. President Salvadori in fact underlined the urgency of overcoming delays and proceeding with the first formal steps necessary for the approval of the plan.
The central role of associations
Another key point of the meeting was the strengthening of the principle of subsidiarity between the Tuscany Region and the Regional Hunting Associations. The central role of the Associations was strongly reaffirmed, which through the Hunting Assistance Centers (CAV), provide decentralized support and assistance services to hunters and to the Region itself. A far-sighted choice, already made in the modification of the regional law, which strengthens the role of hunting associations that will have to be increasingly engaged in terms of functions and services, also with the prerogatives of the public administration.
The contribution of hunters
A model that today once again places the Tuscany Region as a possible reference for other Italian regions. Another topic discussed was the emergency related to PSA, underlining the fundamental contribution of hunters, who in collaboration with the ATCs, are working alongside the institutions and health authorities to try to combat the epidemic. "The meeting with President Giani was a moment of great value for the Association and for our entire category - stated Salvadori - during the meeting we found full availability and listening on the most pressing issues for the future of hunting and management in our Region. This represents a concrete sign of collaboration that will allow us to face the challenges that await us more effectively." Finally, President Giani was informed about the numerous initiatives and opportunities for discussion promoted and organized by the Association, already scheduled for the coming months.
