The agents of the Forest Rangers di Vibo Valentia have carried out some specific checks on hunting activity and weapons in the area of their competence. In particular, in the municipality of Sant'Onofrio Two hunters who came from the province of Reggio Calabria and who were in a forest bound by a landscape point of view were stopped. They both breached the firearms legislation. In fact, they were in possession of 12-gauge semi-automatic shotguns modified.
The two had regular firearms, but the rifles had been adapted to fit seven cartridges (according to the law they cannot be more than three), both with a ball and with buckshot. With these weapons they were ready to take down birds and ungulates. The semi-automatic rifles were impounded while for hunters, a report was sent to the Public Prosecutor's Office. The Police Headquarters will now also have to decide what measures to take against them.
