November 17th is no ordinary date when you consider everything related to hunting. ACR discussed it in one of its latest social media posts: “Today we celebrate World Falconry Day . It's a historic hunting practice with roots in antiquity. Falconry originated in the distant Asian steppes about 4000 years ago . We at the Association for Rural Culture promote Italian falconry, a splendid practice that places the falcon and the surrounding nature at its heart.”
Born as a method of procuring food, the practice of falconry has evolved, strengthening its role in nature conservation , cultural heritage, and social engagement within communities. It is worth noting that falconry was recognized as a living heritage of humanity in 2016 and inscribed on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage as a transnational element in the following countries : United Arab Emirates, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Morocco, Pakistan, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Spain.
