Beretta had the pleasure of welcoming Jessica Rossi, Italian flag bearer and athlete of the Gardonese Company Team, with a surprise event that saw the participation of the workers of the Gun Service of Gardone Val Trompia. It was an exciting afternoon, where between an autograph and a selfie Jessica received the affection and support of Beretta employees for her next Olympic Games. Shorter and shorter countdown for national team shooters around the world, that in 15 days they will take the field at the Tokyo Olympics, while for Beretta some records have already been achieved: out of 116 athletes engaged in the various specialties, 64 will carry a product designed and built in Gardone Val Trompia, with a percentage that is close to 56%, meaning that more than one in two athletes relies on Beretta to face the most important challenge of their competitive life.
In Rio i Beretta rifles in competition they were 43%: this year therefore marks a double-digit growth in the symbolic calculation of the market shares of Olympic weapons. This growth, obtained mainly in the Trap discipline (+ 12% compared to Rio) and among women (+ 9% compared to Rio), brings Beretta guns to be the most chosen by athletes in each of the two disciplines. From the very young American Austin Smith, 20 years still to be completed, to veteran Al Mutairi Saud, born in 68, a team of champions built and supported over the years to guarantee him the best weapons for the most loved and followed sporting event in the world.
Finally, an important epochal transition: in Rio there were 3 sports platforms used (DT10, 692 and DT11), there will be 5 in Tokyo (DT10, 692, DT11, DT11 BLACK and CDT17) in the name of tradition and which are added to the 9 already used in the past. Of the seven Italians competing in Japan, six will use a Beretta firearm in one discipline - the shot - which has always given Italy great satisfaction and as many successes. Beretta also makes its important contribution to this discipline; it does so with technology, research, innovation, work and constant support for athletes: in recent months, in fact, at the Gun Service of Gardone Val Trompia, 27 super-specialized technicians took turns to satisfy all the refinement and fine-tuning requests of each Olympian. "Shooting has always been an insurance policy for the Italian medal table and I am sure that this tradition will continue - he comments Franco Gussalli Beretta - Obviously everyone is well prepared for the Olympic event and the competition will be extremely fierce.
We will be in Tokyo next to our athletes with a pool of experts at their disposal. We will suffer together with them, we will cheer them at every stage, on the pitch and from home, we will get excited and hope to be able to rejoice with them in the end ". At the 2020 edition of the games, for the blue team there are many reasons to dream: Jessica Rossi, now 29, will she be able to repeat herself and bring another gold medal to Crevalcore? AND Diana Bacosi, gold at Rio 2016, will he be able to win a new medal in a historic back-to-back? (Source Beretta).
