Not just agents
The Province of Asti intends to take pigeon management seriously. As recently learned, the authority will authorize the culling of pigeons outside of residential areas, and operations will not be managed solely by security officers. Anyone with a valid firearms license authorizing the control of wild fauna will also be able to participate.
Population to be reduced
The main requirement, however, will be to have attended a course organized by the Piedmont Province itself. The goal is to significantly reduce the population and, above all, the guano, which represents an equally significant problem. Based on the latest censuses, however, there's little to be happy about.
Impressive numbers
Pigeons in Asti alone have reached an impressive total of 14 birds per square kilometer, but another municipality in the province, Castelnuovo Don Bosco, is no exception, reaching 10.
