Paolo Pasqualetti, of San Casciano in Val di Pesa (Florence), is the new one European champion of Chioccolo. The event, which took place in Alijò, in Portugal, and has reached its twenty-second edition, consists in the imitation of the song of the Tordo Bottaccio, the Tordo Sassello and the Merlo. Pasqualetti was first overall in the singing of the Sassello Thrush (Turdus iliacus) and the Blackbird (Turdus merula) and the third absolute in the song of the Song Thrush (Turdus philomelos).
At the end of the race, adding the scores obtained in the individual specialties, Paolo was proclaimed European champion of Chioccolo, thus repeating the title he had already won in 2017, on the occasion of the “Osei” festival which is held annually in Sacile, in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Paolo Pasqualetti, besides being a young and extraordinary interpreter of this ancient art, is also a manager of the ARCT (Regional Association of Tuscan Hunters) and therefore a staunch supporter of CCT (Confederation of Tuscan Hunters) and the unity of all hunters. The ARCT and the CCT express their warmest congratulations to Paolo and declare themselves proud to have him among their associates.
