Adverse weather
The M&M Hunting Preserve and Sporting Clays by Pennsylvania, in New Jersey (USA), recently hosted the World's Sporting Clays Championship. The Italian team led by Giuseppe Calò was made up of Paolo Arcangioli, Gregorio D'Ambrosio, Enrico De Tomasi, Enrico Lugli, Simone Macucci, Vinicio Pamantini, Salvatore Rea and Gabriele Soldani. The competition, as reported by the Technical Commissioner himself, took place with many difficulties due to the weather conditions: Friday was windy and cloudy, Saturday with rain and the last day again cloudy and with poor visibility. Overall, however, "we defended our colors", said Calò.
The various placements
The Senior and Veteran teams earned a more than honorable third place: the Man team fielded Gregorio D'Ambrosio (with Benelli 828 Sport rifle), Enrico Lugli (with Benelli 828 Sport rifle), Simone Macucci (with Perazzi rifle), Enrico De Tomasi (with Rizzini rifle) and Paolo Arcangioli (with Zoli rifle). Among the ranks of the Veterans there were Giuseppe Calò (with Beretta rifle), Vinicio Pamantini (with Beretta rifle) and Gabriele Soldani (with Perazzi rifle).
Other noteworthy results
In the individual competitions in category B, Salvatore Rea excelled with a score of 154/200 and Beretta rifle, while Gregorio D'Ambrosio for his part obtained a brilliant bronze with 144/200. In A, Vinicio Pamantini's result is worthy of note: with 147/200 and Beretta rifle he climbed to the second step of the podium. And in the AA it was Enrico Lugli who got the better of his fierce opponents with a score of 163/200 and a Benelli 828 Sport shotgun, one of the highest achieved by our standard bearers during the "Stars and Stripes" trip.
