New episode in the story linked to wild turtledove hunting, or rather at its pre-opening after the Regions had been delivered in recent days a letter from the Ministry of the Environment in which they were invited not to grant the relative days in advance in their hunting calendars. Immediately the Italian Federation of Hunting was activated both to emphasize thea contradiction between what Minister Costa requested and what ISPRA claimed up to a few days before - or multiple opinions in favor of the pre-opening of the wild turtledove hunt, albeit with the reduction to only two days - both to provide the Hunting Offices with an articulated, complete and updated technical document on the situation of the species in support of the lawfulness and sustainability of the granting of the days in question. Here is the text of the senator Francesco Bruzzone.
It appears to the questioner that on 3 July 2018 the General Directorate for the Protection of Nature and the Sea of the Ministry of the Environment sent a communication to the Hunting Offices of the Regions and Autonomous Provinces concerning "Hunting activity on wild turtledove (Streptopelia turtur) aimed at requiring "a rigorous implementation of the most suitable management measures as regards in particular the hunting activity on wild turtledove". Up to a few days prior to the issuing of the aforementioned note, ISPRA provided the Regions multiple opinions in favor of the pre-opening of the wild turtle dove hunt, albeit with the reduction to two days only.
The framework described above has led this Administration to give a favorable opinion to the European action plan for wild turtledove (Streptopelia turtur) ", specifying that based on the scientific evidence available and the management measures of hunting taken over the years and by strengthen as a precaution for the next hunting season, it does not appear necessary to implement, at the moment, a suspension of the hunting collection pending the development of an adaptive management system of the collection of the species (AHM) as suggested by the Action Plan ".
We ask to know what are the reasons according to which the minister questioned has decided to "avoid the authorization for the pre-opening of the hunting of the species", effectively eliminating two days of pre-opening to the wild turtledove, in contrast to what is indicated by ISPRA up to the day before and with what is explained by the same Ministry in the note sent to the Regions reported in the premises of this question.
