Settlement procedure
With the appointment of the new President ofATC Pisa east 15, the process of setting up the new Management Committees of the Tuscan ATCs and the election of their respective presidents ended last week. The wildlife management and the problems relating to the quality of the answers to be given, not only to hunters, on the work of the ATCs, require a decisive change of pace. We need more planning and investments aimed at overcoming “chronic” criticalities that even in these first days that separate us from the general opening of the hunting season, reappear in the territories on scheduled hunting. The first objective on which to reset and rethink future management choices must be focused on small sedentary game.
Wildlife institutes
It will be necessary to experiment more and to put hand to the real functioning of the faunal institutes, starting from the public ones, with a view to their radical reorganization already with the next Regional Wildlife Hunting Plan. The ATCs play a fundamental role today more than in the past, due to the overcoming of the institutional delegations in the past conferred on the Provinces and today passed to the Region. It will be necessary to strengthen these areas and intensify the involvement of members, associations and various stakeholders. Keeping the reasons for wildlife conservation in balance, with that of agricultural production, starting with the management of ungulates and intercepting greater external investments that are on the background of the future CAP and the new European agricultural strategy, will represent some of the salient points that will arise in front of the new administrators.
