Three regional councilors of the Toscana, Marco Niccolai, Enrico Sostegni and Massimo Baldi (Democratic Party), sent a letter to understand what could be the future of Marshes of Fucecchio, one of the main ones protected areas of Europe. The goal is to get the Environment Commission of the Tuscany Region, in order to relaunch the area itself, which develops between the provinces of Florence, Prato, Pistoia, Lucca and Pisa.
The idea is to promote hearings between statutory auditors and directors of the municipalities concerned, as well as representatives of organizations and associations. There could be ideas and proposals to outline a new system of targeted actions and interventions, enhancing the wetland area.
Just a month ago there "Giovanni Falcone" Nursery School in Monsummano Terme (Pistoia) benefited from one dedicated space at the Padule, an initiative made possible by the municipal headquarters of the Italian Federation of Hunting and Ekoclub International. Local hunters are well aware of the historical importance of the area and similar projects confirm the will of discover little known aspects. The three regional councilors hope that the Region acknowledges the scope of the request.
