An appointment ready for take-off
After the 2023 edition held at the TSN in Naples, the Trofeo delle Regioni is ready to return to the scene in 2024: it will be hosted by the Section TSN of Rome, on November 2-3. The Roman shooting range of Tor di Quinto will once again host a national event almost four years after the last time, on the occasion of the 2020 Winter Championship. The annual appointment with the Finals of the regional team competition dedicated to the youth categories, now in its 28th edition, is ready to take off: from the Students to the Juniors, passing through the Boys, in a packed program that will include individual pistol and rifle contests from 10 meters on the opening day on Saturday and then Mixed Team competitions, also from 10 meters, on Sunday.
The results of the latest edition
The challenge for the succession in the roll of honor to Veneto, which last year won in the Neapolitan venue ahead of Emilia-Romagna and Puglia, is now open. The event will involve approximately 200 young people from all over Italy. There will be 8 Regions involved in this final act of the 2024 Regions Trophy selected by the qualifying tests: Lombardy, Puglia, Piedmont-Valle d'Aosta, Tuscany, Veneto, Alto Adige, Emilia Romagna and Friuli Venezia-Giulia.
Spectacle guaranteed
“As a Region that defends the title won in 2023 – said the President of the UITS Regional Committee of Veneto, Daniele Pusinich – we can't wait to get involved in 2024 too. The event that we are going to face is truly spectacular and is one of the bases that launches the shooters of tomorrow: all the members of the team can't wait to be on the lines for the competitions. We are happy to be part of such a review”. In the ranks of the various delegations, there will be many athletes of national interest: from Luca and Alessio Arrighi, who will represent Tuscany, to Alice Rocco, who will be part of the Lombardy team, passing through Angela Lucia Ajraldi, with Piedmont, Giada Giannachi, for Puglia, and that Anna Schiavon, for Veneto, who a few weeks ago was a protagonist at the Junior World Championships in Lima in the 3-position rifle competition, coming in seventh place worldwide.
Young people from all over Italy
The goal for all teams will be to add up as many points as possible, with their representatives, in 30-shot competitions for the Students and 60-shot competitions for the Boys, for the Junior Men and for the Junior Women, while in the Mixed Team contests there will be a qualification phase, where each region will be able to field up to 3 pairs, and then a real final to which only the best 6 pairs will be able to access in a final elimination act. "Hosting the Regions Trophy in our facility - commented the Extraordinary Commissioner of the TSN of Rome, Orlando Parrella - will be a pleasure: we are talking about one of the most important youth events at a national level. We will have young people from all over Italy on our shooting lines. Our Section will thus be able to promote Shooting and its values not only inside the range, but also throughout the city" (source: UITS).
