The Leica Ultravid 12 × 50 binoculars ensure sharp and perfect images, even in low light and adverse environmental conditions. The Leica Ultravid range from Leica adopts the highest technical and optical standards, ensuring a clear, high-definition vision.
Since the hunting season is over, many enthusiasts will still want to stay in contact with nature, albeit in a different way. Observing the fauna and flora is a way to stay connected to the naturalistic environment, capturing special images and moments with your own eyes. Binoculars can be an excellent tool to aid observation and the Leica responds to this need. The binoculars of the Ultravid 12 × 50 range guarantee extremely bright and sharp images.
Technological innovation has allowed Leica to present cutting-edge products on the market, such as the AquaDura system and the new focusing mechanism, which allow for always clear images and ease of use of the binoculars.
The Ultravid 12 × 50 series, in particular, is suitable for observation until dusk and in adverse weather conditions. The new fluorite glass is installed in the Ultravid 50 binoculars, which ensures a very low level of light dispersion and correction of irregularities. In this way, the observation is more natural. The Leica AquaDura optical coating consists of a “water-repellent coating” which, by preventing the deposit of water and dirt, offers both lenses that are always clean even in hostile weather conditions, and easier cleaning of the same. In addition, thanks to its superior abrasion resistance, the Leica AquaDura coating protects the Ultravid 12 × 50 binoculars even more effectively.
Another feature is the development of reflective coatings and anti-reflective treatments on the prisms, on all models in the HD range, which has allowed the degree of light transmission to be increased by a further 3%, while maintaining a constant neutral chromatic balance.
In order to eliminate the appearance of stray lights, Leica also developed a specific simulation software that makes stray lights visible during the design, which helped the Leica technicians in choosing the most suitable body design, the use of light-absorbing paints and openings and traps for diffused lights. In this way, parasitic rays are virtually eliminated.
Another distinctive element of the Ultravid 12 × 50 binoculars is the focusing mechanism: the movements are even smoother and more constant, without any play during focusing. In order to make the binoculars suitable even at low temperatures, the Leica uses correct combinations of materials and self-lubricating components made of ultra-hard and high-performance synthetic materials. In cold temperatures, traditional grease-lubricated focusing devices can operate with difficulty, while in heat they move too freely. Furthermore, these mechanisms can "stick", while at high temperatures there is even the risk that part of the lubricant comes out of its seat, soiling the lenses. The new focusing mechanism of the Ultravid 12 × 50, in fact, uses high-performance Teflon discs practically free of lubricants in order to ensure a focus that is always very soft, even in the presence of temperatures of -25 ° C.
