The news that the Third Council Commission of the Umbria Region gave a favorable opinion on the removal from the regulation of the Selection hunting the possibility of recovering wounded animals even in areas where hunting is not allowed. Unfortunately, it must be said that it is a due act, after an at least inappropriate appeal of Legambiente made this change necessary. Since the selection in the vicinity of protected areas, often and willingly unmanaged receptacle of ungulates, however, it will be done to contain the damage to agricultural production and that a minimum part of injuries is unfortunately inevitable, what is it that moves these animal welfare associations?
Taking away the possibility of recovering the injured garments will lead in the best case to a waste of food and at worst the slow agony of an animal struck in a non-vital spot. So can self-styled animal friends celebrate the sentence as a victory for the environment? In our opinion, certainly not and we cannot but ask ourselves if the purpose, beyond the declared one of "environmental protection", was not, as always, to target hunting and hunters (Source: Arch Hunting).
