Hunting calendar
It is hereby communicated that in compliance with the provisions of the Order of the VI Section of the Council of State issued this morning [15 January, ed.] which accepts the request for suspension of hunting of thrushes and woodcocks, and that said order considers the subsequent modification of art. 18 of law 157/1992 to be beyond the scope of the appeal and yet maintains its effectiveness with the consequence that until the sentence is issued which defines the judgement in Umbria, hunting of thrushes and woodcocks may continue in compliance with paragraphs 1 and 1bis of art. 18 of Law 157/1992. In fact, the amendment to art. 18 states that; in the event of a suspension being granted, hunting activity may continue in accordance with the law and with the numbers of animals and times set out in the latest hunting calendar; that is, in Umbria, the 2023/2024 calendar which had not been contested in this regard.
Evaluation of legitimacy
The order of the Council of State, far from expressly excluding the applicability of the new art.4 of art.18 of Law 157/1992, limits itself to stating that this goes beyond the assessment of the legitimacy of the contested acts. This was necessary for clarification and peace of mind for our members and others.
Incidents along the way
Finally, thanks to our two Provincial Presidents – Luca Coletti of FIdC Perugia and Enrico Rifelli of FIdC Terni – and to our National President Massimo Buconi, who are always on the ball to follow up and resolve, if necessary, any “incidents” along the way (The Regional President of Federcaccia Umbra Nazzareno Desideri).
