The situation in Umbria
The regional councilor of Umbria Manuela Puletti she thus expressed herself regarding one of the most urgent issues that the hunting world is facing at the moment, that of the use of lead ammunition in wetlands. Here are the words of the League representative: “Today in the chamber, shameful theater on the part of the Democratic Party which first snubs the hunters and then abandons the chamber on a Lega motion dedicated to the disabled. Absurd!"
Transport of lead shot
Puletti then added: “Given the imminent opening of hunting activity and the state of confusion at a regulatory level that hunting is currently experiencing following yet another European folly which prohibits the transport of ammunition with lead shot not only in humid areas, but also within a radius of 100 metres, I asked for the inclusion of a clarifying motion and urgent discussion in the Regional Council shared with colleagues Mancini and Castellari".
Deadline imminent
The councilor's note continues: “By regulation, the inclusion of an emergency must be voted on by 2/3 of those present and the Democratic Party replies to me verbatim that 'It's not a priority'. Translated who cares if hunters don't know what they have to do or if they risk sanctions! Now, given that there are different priorities, that motion simply asked for clarification on the issue and the commitment made by the Umbria Region to defend hunters, which we later learned was there. Politics should provide answers at all levels, it is shameful to deny clarifications to citizens in the highest regional forum in the face of such an imminent deadline".
