It was a day of still, spun, consents, sizzles, flights and sometimes long chases; but also hugs, handshakes and above all a lot, but really a lot of game introduced into the "Clitunno" dog training area (in Zone Acera, a hamlet of Campello sul Clitunno - Perugia), which enters the season with as many as one hundred partridges placed on its land! 35 dogs in the catalog for this season prologue, awaiting the 2019 edition of the Monte Ranne Trophy - Fabrizio Cardarelli Memorial, scheduled for June 30th and July 14th.
Coming to the gathering, the strong wind with continuous changes of direction affected many of the performances: even the most experienced dogs have met their work to do to "hook" the right air and put themselves in the best conditions for hunting. The subjects presented were divided into three categories: continental, English hunters and English dog lovers. Among the continentals success for the Breton spaniel Elodie by Fussi, in front of another Breton Spaniel, Charlie di Fortunati. Among the dog lovers, the pointer Corinne di Mazzoli has established herself, author of a stop on a pair of partridges and subsequent, very long guided: over 50 meters between the grass and the rocks, before the fledging that sanctioned the excellence of the performance.
Three dogs in the ranking among the English hunters: first excellent for the pointer Mary of Troiani, in front of the English setter Orazio di Ubaldi and another English setter, Harlok of Cretoni. A special thanks goes to the Spoleto professional dresseur Giovanni Pioppi, for the occasion more than valid and comprehensive judge, able to help dogs and handlers in carrying out shifts. The awards ceremony and the classic, rich snack-lunch at the Monte Maggiore refuge - in the heart of the dog training area - sealed a day lived in friendship and healthy spirit of dog-technician comparison. The next appointment is now set for 30 June, with the first stage of the Monte Ranne 2019 trophy!
