It is all the more necessary to answer those who wonder why Arch Hunting has not signed the document of the Hunting Associations on the calendar; simply because no one asked for it, taking away the embarrassment of signing a note denying the existence of drought in Umbria.
We are not satisfied with the hunting calendar, especially for the delay with which it was approved. In unsuspecting times (March 2022), therefore before the discussion with the Region began, Arci Caccia hoped for the approval of the hunting calendar by the middle of June.
We are not being put in the dock for what happened, the responsibilities must be sought elsewhere. We do not like the lack of turtledove, it is unthinkable that a discussion that began in March lasted until August. We do not like it because we have lost an opportunity to correctly implement the action plan, we do not like it because by the will of others we have not been able to introduce the electronic card as requested by the same, which Tuscany and the Marche have done. , which on September XNUMXst they will hunt the turtle dove, we do not like it because we have not been able to plan the right interventions at the right times, which would have allowed them to be taken. We do not like it because, at the request of the Terni hunters, we had agreed with the other Hunting Associations the differentiated opening of the wild boar between Perugia and Terni, promptly denied in the subsequent consultation, in particular by Federcaccia and Liberacaccia, who denied their word, with good peace of the Terni hunters, which among other things led to further delays in the calendar approval process.
We supported the choice to depart from the new Key concepts on the closing dates of some species (woodcock, song thrush, redwing, etc.) assuming as all the responsibility for any appeals. Certainly hoping that they will not arrive, because if they do arrive, as has already happened in other regions, they will be by clock, at the end of the sixtieth day, or in mid-October. If the calendar had been approved within the terms of the law, the submission of any appeals would have expired long before the opening of the hunt and we would have had plenty of time for any changes, without interfering with the hunting period. Now, the risk will be that of finding the contested calendar once the hunting season has begun, with all the ensuing consequences.
We were wrong!! We too had to scream to be heard, obviously the polite tones and respect for institutions, the will to build and not to hinder are no longer needed in this context; but we will be able to adapt soon too.
In this story, all the limits of politics emerged, which did not want to take on the responsibility of deciding and governing. The Councilor knew very well what were the right times for approval and the measures to be taken for a regular calendar, he did not want to listen to Arci Caccia in the invitation to hurry up and this was the result.
Today's news that the Councilor, after the attacks received, immediately went to great lengths to consult the regional presidents of the hunting associations, not that of Arci Caccia, to run for cover. The patch was worse than the broken one, putting the blame on officials and managers and approving a further modification in an extraordinary council to allow training from August 15, which we welcome, but we can not endorse the modalities with whom it was decided to manage the affair. Hunters need certainty, they want to exercise their passion while respecting the rules.
We had decided to avoid the clash, trying to mediate on unitary positions, now the other associations accuse us on social networks of having disappeared from the debate, due to strong differences. It is true that we have decided to cut off relations with other associations, we do not have the presumption to say that we are right and others are wrong, but we cannot even accept that unitary positions are the result of prevarication and not of mediation.
Arci Caccia will never bring the brain to clutter, having to accept the choices of others, which in many cases conflict with our idea and vision of hunting. We are always available for dialogue on concrete issues but in respect of our dignity, we are not interested in speaking in the belly.
None of us can be said to be satisfied with the hunting management in Umbria, but the exploitation put in place is the result of the inability to deal with the real themes of hunting and the problems that, for years, we have been dragging on and that too often do not want to be solved.
We are tired of demagogy, of propaganda, of the lack of confrontation, of the lack of seriousness in respecting shared choices, of the exploitation of hunting and hunters. We are tired of those who sell cards below cost in order to grab a few more members, of those who deceive hunters with sailor's promises, of politics in search of votes, of past and present Councilors who, in order to float, look at the numbers and not the proposals, we are tired of always discussing the same problems, of instrumental attacks, of the idea that the fault is always of others, of victimhood, of those who are afraid of change. Yes we are tired of this, but not for this we give up and we will continue our battle for a sustainable hunt that does not conflict with the conservation needs of wildlife, modern and in step with the times, a useful hunt for society, capable of managing and conserving fauna and the environment, the rest does not interest us, at Arci Caccia we do not have to defend either seats or salaries, we are all volunteers who work to defend a passion (source: Arci Caccia).
