Emmanuel Fiorini, leader of the Lega in Umbria Region, issued a statement on the WWF and the hunting guards. Here is the text of this note: “The regional offices have confirmed what I have been asserting for months now. The president of the WWF of Perugia, Sauro Presenzini, until October 2018, was not in possession of the decree of the Province of Perugia which enables the activity of Voluntary fish-hunting security guard.
All the pecuniary sanctions raised by him up to this moment are, in fact, void and the Umbria Region will have to reimburse the hunters made subject of theascertainment and sanctioning activities. Paradoxical the fact that only last October 2018 and, therefore, after my official documents, the questions in the Regional Legislative Assembly, the requests for a hearing in the Commission and the complaints to the Public Prosecutor, Presenzini decided to start all the paperwork to obtain this decree, as demonstrated by the official documents presented by the Province of Perugia.
This situation is also unclear. We know, in fact, that the Province of Perugia had been informed of the complaints in progress regarding the activity of Presenzini: why did the offices of the institution in any case decide to start the procedures for issuing the decree? It is possible, among other things, that the Umbria Region, through the litigation section has never verified? Two aspects on which I intend to shed light by taking every possible path so that responsibilities are identified and the practice invalidated. The time for harassing Umbrian hunters with unjustified abuses of power is over who practice hunting with passion, diligence and in compliance with the regulations. I will ask the competent regional councilor, Fernanda Cecchini, to start all the procedures for the reimbursement of irregularly high fines ”.
