Yesterday, Wednesday 25 October 2017, the regulation for thekilling of wild boars using the "fixed shot" technique (also known as "aspect") in Parco del Monte Cucco, a natural area that rises in the province of Perugia. This technique is allowed only to hunters trained through special courses and who have passed the final test, therefore included in theregister of selecontrollers.
Obviously, the objective to be achieved is to reduce the number of wild boars, as underlined in the control program of the park authority. The Umbrian area is divided into four sectors, corresponding to the four municipalities that are part of the park. The shooting campaigns with the fixed shot are organized all year round and the periods in which hunting is practiced in unprotected neighboring environments.
The operations take place in two sessions, in the range between one hour before and two hours after sunrise and between one hour before and two hours after sunset. As for the weapon, however, you must use one rifled barrel rifle of caliber not less than 6,86 mm (270 Winchester), equipped with a rifle scope. Finally, only lead-free bullets can be used in the operations.
